"WHO" In The News

For those die hard Doctor Who Fans who have waited the "Perverbial Eternity" for new Who episodes, rejoice for your dreams have come true, in a sense.

Big Finish Products has contracted with the BBC to produce a series of Doctor Who audio originals.

The first episode entitled "The Sirens of Time", will have Peter Davison as the 5th Doctor in Part 1, Colin Baker as the 6th Doctor in Part 2 and Sylvester McCoy as Doctor #7 in Part 3 with all three reprising their respective roles in Part 4.

The audios will be available through Friends of Doctor Who by calling 1-800-TREKKER.

And as many of you have heard or even seen by now, Rowan Atkinson of Black Adder and Mr. Bean fame, has become the latest star to tackle the role of Doctor Who.

In March, the BBC aired an episode of Doctor Who entitled "Doctor Who and the Curse of the Fatal Death" starring Rowan Atkinson as the Doctor, Ab Fab's Julia Sawalha as companion Emma with Jonathon Pryce providing an excellent rendition of the Master.

Now before you  lose it totally, this was a 26 minute spoof for the BBC's "Red Nose Day" charity fundraiser.

American TV Update: As most of you know, due to a lack of PBS station sign-ups, the PBS national feed of Doctor Who died a sad death. However, the satellite feed of BBC America is showing Doctor Who ( Tom Baker episodes ) on Saturday and Sunday at various times.

The BBC America satellite feed can be viewed on DirecTV, who recently merged with USSB, and on the Dish Network.


Rumor Has It?

The new K9 spin-off series is once again moving ahead after being on hold. Funding, which was an issue, may soon be worked out after a 5-minute video intended to impress possible funding sources is complete.

It is also rumored , K9 is being redesigned  for the new series, and can be seen in the latest Doctor Who Magazine.
